Parallèlement à notre visite du New York City World Of Disney, faisons un détour par Broadway où Disney présentait, en 2009, 3 shows. Il n'y aura pas de photos des spectacles puisqu'elles sont bien évidemment interdites, mais cela n'empêche pas de vous montrer quelques images des extérieurs.

After our tour of New York City World Of Disney, let's have a walk on Broadway, where up to 3 Disney musicals were being performed daily in 2009. There is not any picture of the shows, as it is of course forbidden, but we will have a look at the outside anyway !

Le Lunt-Fontanne Theater présentait The Little Mermaid : Broadway's Sparkling New Musical de 2007 à 2010. Auparavant le théâtre était déjà occupé par une production Disney : Beauty and the Beast qui a ouvert en 1994.

Quelques blocs plus loin on trouve le Minskoff Theater où The Lion King a été déplacé en 2006, c'est la première musicale Disney que ce théâtre accueille, après avoir présenté des classiques comme West Side Story ou Cabaret.
A few blocks away you will find the Minskoff Theater where The Lion King has been moved in 2006, this is the first time this theater is home to a Disney musical, after showing classics such as West Side Story or Cabaret.

Enfin juste après Times Square on arrive au légendaire New Amsterdam Theater, qui est de loin le plus beau des 3. Le théâtre est loué par The Walt Disney Company depuis 1994, elle y a notamment installé le siège social de Walt Disney Theatrical Productions ainsi que la musicale The Lion King dès 1997. En 2006 Lion King déménage et Mary Poppins ouvre.
At the end of Times Square we arrive at the famous New Amsterdam Theater, the most beautiful of these 3. The theater is rented by The Walt Disney Company since 1994, it is home to Walt Disney Theatrical Production headquarters. The Lion King was being performed there from 1997 to 2006 when it has been transfered to the Minskoof Theater to make room for Mary Poppins.

Et puisque l'on est dans le coin j'en profite pour vous montrer les Times Squares Studios, propriété de la Walt Disney Company où sont tournées plusieurs émissions du réseau ABC, notamment Good Morning America. La spectaculaire façade donnant sur Times Square diffuse des news en live et est un support de publicité pour les productions Disney en tous genres.
As we are in the area let's have a look at the Times Square Studios, a Walt Disney Company property where many ABC shows are being filmed, including Good Morning America. The dramatic front of the building broadcasts live news and commercial for all kinds of Disney productions.

Bien loin du petit Disney Store de Lille, nous partons aujourd'hui visiter le New York City World Of Disney, sans doute la boutique la plus incroyable que Disney ait ouverte en dehors des resorts ! La boutique a été ouverte par Disney Consumer Product en 1997 sur la prestigieuse 5e avenue, c'était alors le plus grand Disney Store du Monde. Ce qui explique que la Walt Disney Company n'a pas souhaité s'en séparer lorsqu'elle a vendu The Disney Store à Children's Place en 2002. Après une fermeture temporaire pour travaux la boutique rouvre sous le nom World Of Disney et est maintenant gérée par Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, qui exploite déjà deux magasins de la même enseigne sur les resorts de Californie et Floride.

Today, we are going far away from the tiny Lille Disney Store, to New York City World Of Disney, probably the most amazing Disney shop outside of the Disney resorts ! The store opened as a The Disney Store in 1997 on the prestigious New York 5th Avenue. It was then the biggest Disney Store in the World, which probably explains that The Walt Disney Company would not sell it to Children's Place along with the whole Disney Store brand. So after a temporary closing, the store re-opens in 2002 as a World Of Disney and is now being operated by Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, which already operates two similar stores in California and Florida.

De l'extérieur, World Of Disney est un bâtiment sobre et élégant avec pour seule fantaisie une magnifique enseigne.
From the outside, World Of Disney is a very sober and elegant building, almost invisible on 5th avenue, but for its very nice sign.

Dès qu'on entre, cependant, on se sent tout droit revenu à Walt Disney World ! On retrouve une large sélection de merchandising des parcs à thèmes, une station de pins, des vinylmations, des déguisements mais aussi toute une gamme exclusive New York City dans une ambiance 100% Disney. En empruntant les escalators au milieu de la boutique, on accède au premier étage consacré aux peluches et jouets et dont les immenses fenêtre offrent une belle vue sur la 5e avenue, c'est aussi là que l'on trouve des caisses avec une attente moindre. Un élégant escalier nous emmène au 2e étage en mezzanine, aménagé comme une boutique Art Of Disney, on y trouve des figurine, tableaux et litographies de collection. C'est aussi là que se trouve la Friendly Room, un espace de rencontres avec les personnages Disney. Malheureusement lors de notre passage en 2009, cette animation n'était plus proposée.

As soon as you get in though, it feels like being in a Walt Disney World Shop ! You'll find a large selection of theme park merchandising, including a pin station, vinylmations, clothes, costumes, and an exclusive New York City selection, in a totally Disney atmosphere. The escalators in the center of the shop will take you upstairs, on a floor where you'll find mainly toys and stuffed characters. Also, the hudge windows offer quite a view over the 5th avenue, and you will find more cashiers over here, with a shorter line. Another staircase leads you all the way up to the last floor which looks a lot like an Art of Disney store. We can find prestigious collectibles, paintings, and posters, as well as the Friendly Room, a Disney characters meet'n greet experience just like in the theme parks. Unfortunately when we were there in 2009, it was not offered anymore.

En 2008 The Walt Disney Company rachète The Disney Store et annonce dans la foulée que le bail du New York City World Of Disney ne sera pas renouvelé. Le magasin unique en son genre ferme définitivement en janvier 2010, remplacé par un nouveau Disney Store sur Times Square, à quelques blocs de là.

In 2008 The Walt Disney Company buys back The Disney Store and directly announces that the New York City World Of Disney lease will not be renewed. The unique store closes permanently in january 2010, and a new Disney Store opens in october the same year, just a few blocks away on Times Squares.

Aujourd’hui nous allons découvrir mon attraction préféré au parc Disneyland : Phantom Manor.

Cette attraction a ouverte en 1992 en même temps que le parc et nous raconte la triste histoire de Mélanie, la fille de la famille Ravenswood. Elle bénéficie d’une storyline très riche parfaitement intégrée à Frontierland. Nous vous proposons un petit tour qui fait froid dans le dos.

Today, we discovering my favourite attraction at Disneyland Park : Phantom Manor.

This attraction openned in 1992 with the park. It tells the story of Melanie, the daugther of the Ravenswood family. The ride has a very rich storyline perfectly integrated into Frontierland. Have a frightfully good time !

Et pour finir cette série d'images des parcs (très) tôt le matin, je voulais partager ces photos prises le dernier jour de l'année 2008 entre 8H et 8H30 du matin, le soleil se levait tout juste sur le Parc Disneyland encore scintillant sous ses habits de Noël, à travers une légère (mais très froide) brume matinale...

To finish this serie of images taken (very) early inside the parks, I wanted to share theses pictures taken on the very last day of the year 2008 between 8 and 8:30am, the sun was slowly rising above Disneyland Park, still lightened with Christmas decorations, through a soft (but very cold) morning mist...

Let The Adventure Begin, le Welcome Show de Disney's Animal Kingdom se déroule devant le Tree Of Life au centre du parc. Minnie, Dingo et Pluto arrivent à bord d'un van de safari pour faire la check-list de l'aventure du jour : crème solaire, appareil photo, plan du parc... et guide ? Oui, notre guide Mickey est déjà là, sur sa nacelle devant le Tree Of Life ! Il est temps pour tout le monde crier en choeur "let the adventure begin !" pour suivre le van jusqu'au fond du parc.

Let The Adventure Begin, Disney's Animal Kingdom Welcome Show is presented prior to park opening in front of the Tree Of Life, at the park central plaza. Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto arrive in a safari van to do their adventure check-list with guests : sun screen, camera, park map and... tour guide ? Yes, our tour guide Mickey Mouse is already here, in the Tree Of Life ! Time for every body to scream together "let the adventure begin !" and follow the van until the end of the park.
